Ascent Trip Report

Attacked from the subdivision in Yorba Loma from the south and did a trip very similar and following GPS path of Micheal Sullivan 6-29-2014. Parked furhter down slope and made deatiled emasuremetns of all additional gain as the trails do a lot of up and down rolling with gains of 5 feet to 45 feet in between subhills making a lot of additional work on the legs each way. All ravine and creek bottoms were dry so any "fording" were dry crossings. Spooked a coyote on the trail and made him bolt. Stepped over a snake. Nice open views but a lot fo dry grasses. HP of CHino State Park. Then tagged point 1476 and went on to climb up Gilman Peak which has far less prominence (in fact less than 300 feet!) but by far better views and better solitude.
