Ascent Trip ReportWe did this one just an hour and a half after finishing West Mountain. It was really amazing to go out there; the landscape was so vast and yet so calm, so quiet. After opening and closing three gates, we hit the trail around 3 pm. We ended up taking the east route, and the steepness came in three main sections. There was a light layer of snow all over the peak, but we managed to get up and down safely. The views at the top were amazing; we could see Mt. Nebo, the San Pitch Range, Fool Creek Peak, and a steam plant out somewhere in the West Desert. It was a little treacherous getting down with the snow, but we were back at the car before nightfall. Of the peaks I've done so far, this is one of my favorites; I would strongly recommend it for those who enjoy peace and solitude.
