Ascent Trip ReportWe took the Reno Gulch Road West out of Hill City. Then South on 387.1B. Didn't get too far on snowy road. Walked to turnoff with 387.1E. Then snowshoed from turnoff to top of peak and back. It was very steep for the last half mile or so, we switchbacked up, making a nice snowshoe track. Very slow progress on the climb - two and a half hours. Downed trees were not bad, but occasionally annoying. Was nice to have the snowshoes with deep snow in places and snowdrifts. Due to late start, didn't make top until 4pm, then was fully dark by the time we got back to the car. This could have been skied with climbing skins and would have made for a quick trip back down. Nice views.
