Ascent Trip Report

This was a private hike of some peaks in Joshua Tree National Park with George Christiansen and Pat Arredondo. From the west entrance, we drove to Geology Tour road, drove 10.1 miles down the road to a pullout on the left side. From the park spot we hike due east across flat terrain for about 2 miles. We were following Bob Burds track. At this point we deviated southeast then east to a ridge that took us to the summit. We probably would have been better off staying on Bob’s track. On the way down, we went down a ridge to a gully. We followed the gully to a point where we went out and around Peak 3951 then dropping down into the gully finally coming out in the flat area about 2 miles southwest of the car. Again, we would have probably been better off following Bob’s track.
Next was 4695 and 4750. We started at the Quail Springs Picnic area. From the picnic area, we headed due west to a ridge that was going up to 4695. From 4695, we dropped down to the saddle then up to 4750.
From there it was down to the parking area.
