Ascent Trip Report

Parked along County Rd 116 and walked directly up the hill via the power line cut. There were a couple hunters parked at the gate described in previous ascent so I opted for this route instead. This angle allowed for a few decent images of the tower with the sun setting to the west. Found the Witch #1 witness marker and the Witch BM, both of which were placed in 1935. The BM is just in front of the propane tank, the witness marker is about 20 feet to the northwest. Didn't stay as long as I would have liked as the sun was setting and I still had a 5+ hour drive ahead of me to Baton Rouge. Neat location and a recommended stop, especially if you're into fire lookouts.
