Ascent Trip Report

I hiked Rocky & Lone with the Catskill 3500 Club. There was fresh snow so we broke trail with snowshoes for the whole hike. We started this from Denning Rd going past the end of the FLT (very disappointing). When we left the trail, we followed a herd path at first but had a hard time keeping on it. We went over several water crossings before starting the ascent. It was a slow go as we kept switching lead to break trail. We were all exhausted at the peak but made our way to Lone. The ascent of Lone was very steep and some people used a rope, others of us scrambled up. Long day!
