Ascent Trip Report

Lola and I departed the house at 8:45 AM and arrived at the TH at 10:10 AM. I left the TH at 10:15 AM. The hike started off poorly with many Cholla cacti and they were sticking in Lola’s paws. I stopped several times so I could pull the cactus thorns out of Lola's paws.

The trail is okay to follow, but the cairns were not always easy to find. The terrain is steep and rocky and filled with cacti (Cholla, Barrel and others).

Once I reached the high ridge and could see the eastern side of the mountain it was much easier to travel. I signed the register; it was 1:15 PM. The trip up took three hours. On the eastern side (false summit) someone placed a small copper box that contains ashes of a deceased.

The trip down was simply back tracking the route up. I was back at the truck at 3:15 PM, taking just two hours going down.
