Ascent Trip Report

Drove up Piute Mountain Road from Kelso Valley, turning left at a junction marked "Sorrell Peak," which was road 29S04. Followed that road until slightly northwest of the peak. Followed the use trail from the road toward the summit. Found and signed the register. On the way down found an abandoned jeep road that led to the 29S04 road (about 200 yards further up), which was a much quicker route. Recommend following my return track (the track to the southwest) on future hikes. A prior peakbagger (who posted his route on Peakbagger) did the same thing (i.e. finding the jeep road on the descent).
