Ascent Trip Report

We met up with Lyndsey and Sebastian at the TH and headed up this Blob Peak pin bump just south of Bellingham. This was the first peak that Becca and I have bagged as a married couple and was fittingly Washington: Rained the whole way up and down. The summit was view-less due to the clouds, but there seems to be a possible view to the south on a nicer day. For a 3 year old, Sebastian crushed the first 800' of gain, hardly needing a break. Sage and Sawyer were instrumental in keeping him heading up the trail towards the summit by engaging him in a tag-like game with pine branches to swat each other. Sebastian loved all the attention from the bigger boys! Then, we put him in Lyndsey's kid backpack for the final 200' to the summit. Alger Alp is a nice roadside quick hike with a well-maintained trail to the summit from both the north and south if you are heading along I-5. As good as a peak as can be bagged on a rainy December day in WA! Pics
