Ascent Trip ReportWe left at around 6:45AM and made it to the top of Rabbit in 3 hours. We had lunch at the summit and had probably went by 5-7 false peaks, and then had to go up and down them on the way back again. It was about 8 miles round trip from Villager to Rabbit and then Rabbit to Villager. We had to hike back from Villager to the parking lot on the same day so it was 15 miles in in almost 15 hours. There was pricking of the cacti to contend with and one of our fellow hikers had it really bad above the waist belt when he picked up his pack. We had to remove it with pliers. We got back at around 9PM and our leader had to navigate in the dark. It was hard to walk in the uneven terrain and rocks constantly moving around below the feet (talus). By the end, my feet and ankle were sore. i had to borrow about 1.5 liters in addition to the 9 liters that I had carried.
