Ascent Trip ReportI opted to visit on a weekday to avoid the access problems experienced by others. The gate to the top was open, but I parked in the "Additional Parking" area and walked up the road just in case. As I read the horn antenna plaques, an employee emerged from the workshop, hopped in his van, and drove up to me. I explained my presence, and he approved and drove off. As stated in the CoHP reports, the land to the north near the the 7m parabolic antenna seems higher than the listed coordinate for Crawford Hill, as does the small ridge at the north end of the field mentioned by Greg Slayden. It's unclear which areas are natural.
If you're into both county highpointing and astronomy/cosmology, this is an irresistible twofer. The story of the Holmdel Horn Antenna is truly remarkable.
