Ascent of Mount Silliman on 2017-11-11
|Date:||Saturday, November 11, 2017|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||11188 ft / 3410 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI left from the Peninsula at 3:30am and arrived at Lodgepole just before 8:00am, after which I took a short nap. I started from the Twin Lakes trailhead a few minutes before 9:00am. The unmaintained trail was easy to follow until I passed Silliman Meadow where I started up the granite slabs. The slabs were fairly steep in places and required a great deal of patience. I went up the chute past the tarn, staying right to avoid the sand slope, and I summited just before noon. It was clear enough to see as far north as Lyell in Yosemite. I descended the sand slopes to the tarn and was back at the trailhead at 2:50pm.
Stats: 3h02m up, 25m at summit, 2h27m down.
