Ascent Trip Report

Trip to Bradley Mtn., HP of the Town of Plainville CT, 680+', N 41.65761 W 72.83760. A GPS is recommended.

Starting point is Crescent Lake Park south of Crescent Lake and southwest of Bradley Mtn, accessible from Ledge Road/Shuttle Meadow Rd.
Look at the bulletin board and make notes about the trails. Then hike the trail going east from the parking lot. The significant time-saver is at the 2nd meaningful junction, go right; the left fork goes north towards the lake. At the crest of the big slope up the ridge is a 4-way junction, with blazes north, south and west. It can be easily recognized on the return trip, but you might as well take a waypoint on your GPS.

Go north. Following the trail is exciting, how it goes up and down knobs of rock. Sometimes paralleling the trail a little to the east is easier. I found the trail hard to follow because of all the downed leaves on it,
and the blazes aren't always easy to spot. Approaching the highest point is impressive looking, but hard to distinguish from other knobs. That is why a GPS is recommended. The highest point is about two steps to the
west of the trail.

If you budget enough time - I hadn't - you can also go visit the highest point of the Town of New Britain.
