Ascent Trip ReportSurprisingly fun drive-up highpoint. They have a little walk around deck about a third way up a corn silo, a walk through barn to learn about processing corn, a cool state license plate board (thanks to highpointers.org) and fun mosaic monument to stand on for photos.
We camped at Stone State Park outside of Sioux City. Definitely a place to revisit turning peak season for the leaves turning. It was a quite park with plenty of campsites. We prereserved, but there were only a total of 3 sites books out of 25 that night.
Side adventures: Minnesota is only 7 miles away. Stop by the Bigelow post office to mail some postcards, and drive another 10 minutes up the road to a number of orchards. We chose Ocheda Farms...they were great! |
