Ascent Trip ReportHiked to Everest Base Camp on 10-16 and then Kala Pattar early AM on 10-17. The Treking route is to Kala Pattar North Summit (18438'), but most PB entries are logged in at "Kala Pattar" (18176'). The North Summit (at least as indicated on the PB site), is the higher significant point, and "Kala Pattar" is down the ridge at 18176', an off trail rock scramble to a number of bumps vying for the high point. Some random visits apparent, but nothing like the North summit. Epic views of Mt Everest and surrounding peaks at sunrise. |
