|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||4198 ft / 1279 m|
Ascent Trip ReportThis was a solo hike of these two Lower Peaks. I followed the peak guide driving instructions. This time I drove all the way to the locked gate. This saves about 1.4 miles round trip of hiking. I followed the road to the large clearing just before Frankish. On the way to this clearing, I noticed two routes up a ridge to the summit. I decided to take the ridge route to the summit, rather then the road. Besides the road looked a little overgrown. The ridge route worked out well. It was a little hard to find, but once I got on it, it was easy to follow to the summit. The summit is a plateau and I was surprised to find a register on the summit. It was in some rock on the perimeter of the summit. It was placed there in 2006 by Jorge and Diane Estrada.
On the return, I went up the well clipped use trail to the summit of Stoddard. I found a register on the summit.
Note: If you decide to drive to the gate, be very careful where you park. There is very little parking, so don’t park anywhere blocking the road or on somebody’s private property. Be a good neighbor.
