Ascent Trip ReportThis is the high point of Mare Island, which was the site of a major US Navy shipyard until it was turned over to the City of Vallejo. The hill is in the Mare Island Shoreline Preserve, which is only open Friday Saturday and Sunday. When I got to the entrance I asked if I could drive through and a fellow said yes so I drove to the summit. Ordinarily it would be a short hike of a mile or two.
