Ascent Trip ReportI stayed at the Tamarack Lodge in Lakeshore the night before. I left at 4:50am and arrived at the dam at 6:15am, incredibly thankful for my rental Nissan Rogue. I started up the dam stairs at 6:36am and proceeded up the slopes, which were fairly steep and brushy. The grade relented slightly as I got closer to Chamberlain Lake, but the brush got thicker; perhaps I could've found a clearer way with better routefinding. I reached the outlet of the lake at 8:46am, had a snack, and turned to the west face, which alternated between periods of steep dirt and granite covered in bushes and trees. I reached the top of the ridge at 10:32am where I was treated to fine views north and east, including my first view of Hooper, which was a short ways down the ridge. Once at the summit block, I wrapped around to the northern class 3 ascent and I was on top at 11:05am. After about 20 minutes in the summit area, I descended down the southwest face to Chamberlain Lake, which, after getting out of the cliff band, was a mix of talus and sand -- a bit better than bushwhacking down the west face. I reached the outlet of Chamberlain Lake at 12:50pm and was back at the dam at 2:48pm.
Stats: 4h29m up, 20m at summit, 3h23m down.
