Ascent Trip ReportSecond NPHP that I had to take a boat to get to. The closest boat leaves from Grand Portage, MN, the most northeastern town in Minnesota. From there it's about 20 nautical miles to the docks at Windigo at Isle Royale. I was happy to find that the Greenstone Ridge Trail goes from Windigo right up to Mount Desor, about 9 miles east up the middle of the island. Beautiful trail.
There was reportedly a cairn there in 2006 but after a thorough search around the HP area I couldn't find it.
