Ascent Trip Report

I left my Airbnb in Big Pine at 4:40am, stopped in Bishop for coffee and a Pop-Tart, and arrived at Minaret Summit at 6:00am with the very first light of dawn. I walked up the 4x4 road to Peak 10242, at which point the sunlight was beginning to touch the tops of the Minarets, Ritter, and Banner. It was a spectacular sight. The road became a trail, and I walked down the ridge, over a hump, and up to Two Teats. I continued on to San Joaquin Mountain and summited at 8:45am. I was treated to fantastic views of Ritter/Banner, the Mammoth area, and Mono Lake. I signed the register and walked back to Two Teats, spending about 35 minutes to ascend both of its summits. I was back at Minaret Summit just before noon.
