Ascent Trip Report

We hadn't intended to bag a CoHP on this trip. However, when we saw a sign stating we were entering Plumas County, one thing led to another and, before we knew it, Mt. Ingalls became our next target.

Navigating on the fly, and relying heavily on Dean Gaudet's trip report, we drove in from the northwest on Grizzly Road, aka Beckwourth-Taylorsville Road, aka Walker Mine Road. After about 11 miles, we turned onto 24N09, passing by the impressive ruins of the Walker Mine. We probably could have driven to the summit but decided to park a mile below at the fork mentioned by Dean, stretching our legs before beginning the long drive home. On the drive down, we took the signed road to Lake Davis (turning left on 25N39 to 25N10), which, as others have noted, has been narrowed in places by encroaching brush.
