Ascent Trip Report

This one is back there, around 17 mi off pavement one way. The mountain is in a beautiful location, and the shear cliffs on the west side make it aesthetically interesting. I took the signed route, which is quite obviously the maintained access road for the lookout. The road is in great shape the whole way, and there is no need for clearance. There was no one at the lookout, but the only gate was open. The lookout wasn't boarded up yet, so it's unclear if the gate is closed after that time.

In short, to get there take Silver Creek Road about 14 mi from it's start near Keller to a road signed for the Whitestone Lookout. This is just past Ninemile-Hellgate Road, which is also signed for a different lookout. Almost immediately after turning there will be a sign indicating that this is a Colville game reserve. The obvious road goes all the way to the lookout with the only junction of note being just before the top, where it goes to the right.
