Ascent Trip ReportAs previous reports have mentioned, a sign along the Black Mountain Crest Trail appears to mark the top of Cattail Peak, but does not. The summit is north of that point and requires a minimal (five-minute?) bushwhack to reach. We followed a use trail, hopped over a couple of downed trees, and easily found the summit benchmark. On the way back we saw one piece of pink and black flagging tape, but flagging might not be needed here unless you have a poor sense of direction. There is a steep drop just to the north of the summit rocks on Cattail - caution.
