Ascent Trip ReportParked at Lulu brook cascade parking area. Headed north out of parking area to Honwee loop trail. I took the northern side first which ascents directly up ridge to summit. Trail is in bad condition. There are no water bars installed so the lower section is a gully. Some sections are overgrown. There is a mountain bike trail the switchbacks all the way up that is used often so it is in better shape, however a much longer hike up. Summit has no view and is rather flat with no distinct summit marker.
The trip down is off the back or west side to continue loop and then to south and east. I jump over to the Lulu brook trail for the rest of decent. The two trails run right next to each other. The brook trail is more interesting and challenging with some exposure of the chasm of the brook. |
