Ascent of Black Peak on 2017-09-24Date: | Sunday, September 24, 2017 | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | Peak: | Black Peak | Location: | USA-Washington | Elevation: | 8970 ft / 2734 m |
Ascent Trip ReportDay hike to Black Peak. The Lake Ann trail is snow free, the Heather Pass trail is snow free. The trails to Lewis and Wing lake are also snow free. The snow starts around 8000ft which makes the last 900 feet to the summit a bit slippery, but this south route is mostly class 2 scrambling. There's about 30 feet or so of class 3 near the summit. My stats for the day were 13.1 miles round trip and 5,453 feet elevation gain in 6 hours 34 minutes. |
