Ascent Trip Report

Pics from our attempt. We were turned back about 200ish feet below the summit because the fourth class slab was soaked and covered in snow. We were not expecting as much snow as there was up there (6 in) as we hoped that it would have melted. If conditions were dry, our strong party would have been able to continue without any issue. More daylight hours would have been helpful. The good news is that we can go back and we know how to avoid some of the less pleasant brush. If you go for this, enjoy the bees/hornets. We somehow stepped in 3 different nests in 3 different locations. Greg and Andy seemed to take the brunt of the stings. I somehow escaped unscathed! It was great to finally meet Adam, as we have corresponded about peaks a lot. It was also great to meet and hike with Andy, a very accomplished Washington peakbagger. And finally, I was glad to be out hiking with Greg again as it has been too long since we hiked together! I look forward to more hikes with all 3 of these guys.
