Mine Camp Peak 10,222 ft, Millard County Highpoint.
Above the towns of Fillmore and Richfield, basically in the middle of the state.
Mine Camp Trailhead adjacent a cattle-grate, has a little sign so you know you're in the right spot and has the peak's exact elevation stamped into it, 10,222 ft. The hike is a lot steeper than it looks from the road and you have a 400 foot down-climb first.. which wasn't so bad climbing back up afterward.. after all, it's barely a 1 mile round-trip hike.
There are two high rock-piles on the summit separated by 50 yds or so.. but the highpoint has a taller cairn. Hiked back to the trailhead and headed off to Blue Bell Knoll. |
