Ascent Trip ReportDrove down Lake Hughes Road from I-5 until junction with Pine Canyon Road (N2) then turned west 4.7 miles to Bushnell Summit to junction with 7N23. Turnoff was not marked. Forest road 7N23 was rough in spots and may not be passable in standard 2WD sedan. After 3.2 miles on 7N23, parked at junction with 7N08. Started down forest access road 7N23A toward Burnt Peak. Detoured to Little Burnt along the way. Following the use trail along the southeast ridgeline to its summit. Descended along the same use trail to 7N23A and continued toward Burnt Peak. Found a jeep trail along the way, that reduced the distance some. Could not find a register on the summit. Returned back along the jeep trail and 7N23A toward Sawmill Peak. Climbed along the faint use trail up the south ridgeline to the summit and back along 7N23 back to parking. |
