Ascent Trip ReportBiked to the Chenuise TH, crossed river on log bridges to continue up trail. Not seeing an obvious maker, I went all the way to the boundary marker (to far), rather than returning down the trail, I traversed diagonally cross-country to attain the ridge at 3400ft. That is a mistake - whole area to 3400 ft is filled with large, old blow downs which makes for tedious, hard work - better to go back. I erected at log cairn arrow where I popped out on the trail on the descent. May not the best place, but was much better down that up. From 3400 ft followed ridge with intermittent boot track. All the critical cliff band bypasses seemed to have a reasonably oblivious boot track. Other trip reports describe. Continued on ridge following game trails or intermittent boot path to tree covered summit (3 hours from river). summit register wet - could not write with pencil. Proceeded from there east to Wallace peak (4.5 hours round trip with breaks), then back to Tirzah and back on the same route to return to the trail.
