Ascent Trip ReportDrive over from Snow Mountain with temperatures in the Elk Creek area near 109 degrees. Continue down road way beyond Mendocino Pass before realizing it and had to turn around to backtrack. Arrived at 5:45 pm just below summit on road beneath lookout tower. Located the benchmark next to the western side of the tower, but it had been partially painted over. No register found. Nobody occupying the tower today. 79 degrees and hazy/smoke. |
