Ascent Trip Report

Followed John Fedak's route and Marcus Sierra's GPX file. Big thanks for traiblazers.
Once pack trail is done, GPX file comes handy, since lakes aren't visible from the trail to orient.
Even with pre-loaded file I managed to make a navigational error by exiting the valley too early, climbed class 2 rockfall, with some class 3 moves, which was fun in the rain. As a result gained West Ridge, but decided not to pursue, instead descended back and followed original route out of the valley, which ends up with a small waterfall under the Black Hawk Lake. Weather was quickly deteriorating, I rushed to the summit, which was extremely dull. This very moment first lighting flashed and I practically rolled down from the summit. Under those conditions decided not to do lollipop hike, and returned the same way. Next couple of hours there was continuous thunderstorm with showers and lightnings. On the way back haven't seen even a single hiker. Also, haven't seen even a single horse whole day.RT 9.5 hrs, including 30 min detour.
