Ascent Trip Reporttrail? ha. i got tired of going up/down on berms, and going around all the downed trees, and just went cross-country. the understory was better in most places than the "trail"... but not always.
gmaps will take you to this trailhead. the worst of the road is on the NF-49 segment at the start: sandy dusty ruts. some clearance recommended, and don't lose your momentum in the sand. if you get past that the only other hazard is scratches in the last mile.
