Ascent Trip ReportBrown, Slide, Palisades, Marcus traverse. From Sunrise point, followed trail to the point you depart up the west ridge to Brown summit. Up easy boot path to Brown summit. Followed boot path off north ridge of Brown toward Slide either on, left or right of the north ridge based on easiest path. Easy scramble to summit of Slide. Returned back to Brown and down boot veering right toward upper Palisades lake. From the lake, headed cross country to the base of the northwest ridge directly west of upper Palisades lake. Followed path of least resistance and game trails to 6600ft, then continued along ridge toward Palisades summits. This was a mistake - looks good, but lots of chest high, tightly packed pines and brush and rock bands to traverse. Better to just give up a few hundred feet of elevation and drop down to the right to cross the plateau (early season tarn for water, later season dry). From the plateau, up obvious south southwest gully leading directly to the Palisades summit(s) ridge. From Palisades summit, took boot / game trails back to unnamed lake north of Marcus. Followed boot track diagonally up to notch in Marcus' northeast ridge, followed both path on left side of ridge, then crossed over to right side up to summit. Returned down route and exited to on gully heading south with the intent to go north to Dege. However, after scrambling south across next east-west ridge, decided to bail (having already done Dege) and headed east following game trails until finding the maintained trail leading back to Sunrise Point.
