Ascent Trip ReportA fine ascent with Becca and the boys on our family trip to the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver Island. There is a well-maintained trail from Granite Bay Rd to the summit that also links up with Nugedzi Lakes Trail. We spent the previous afternoon wandering out Rebecca Spit and camping near Open Bay. Sage led the way again on this hike as we encouraged him up at an excellent pace. We spent over an hour on the summit eating snacks, relaxing, and taking pictures. Becca made some really good boomerang pics of all of us. The GPS track here is on the descent as I ran the ascent track on Sawyer's Garmin. The views of Strathcona and the coast range peaks were amazing with a few clouds today. Becca pointed out a bunch of plants and rocks that I know very little about... Pics |
