Ascent Trip ReportI left the Squaw Valley parking lot at about 5:45 and headed up the Granite Chief Trail. After about an hour, I attempted to follow the disused trails on the USGS Topo maps down the Mountain Meadows Lake drainage. This was a bit of a bushwhack. Eventually, I ended up on the PCT and summited Tinker Knob after 2:30 of hiking. The views from the summit were fantastic. Lassen Peak is even visible over the shoulder of Sierra Buttes. Afterwards, I hiked on the PCT south to the pass at the Granite Chief chairlift and summited Granite Chief. I walked down the Granite Chief Trail from there. ~6:30 round trip.
