Ascent Trip Report

Great climb. Left Bellingham around 8, started climbing from Heliotrope parking lot at around 10. Hiked three miles, roped up at foot of glacier, and reached Black Butte campsite around 4. Pitched camp on glacier, scouted route. Rose at 2 am, began climbing at 3:40. Route meandered around wide open crevasses and under hanging seracs. Much confusion about how to ascend pumice ridge - due to late August conditions there was no easy access vis glacier; we eventually set up a belay for short scramble. From there, it was a straight forward climb up pumice ridge to Roman Wall and on to summit. Reached top at about 9:40, with a lot of time lost sorting out route. Descended same route, reaching parking lot at 6.
