Ascent Trip ReportWe had just climbed Coney Mt. and Goodman was next up on my wife and my adventure to tackle the Tupper Lake Triad in one day. It's only about a 2 minute drive up the road, so it was about 15 minutes in between finishing Coney, driving and eating our PB&J sandwiches, then starting the next hike. Goodman is pretty unique because the first roughly half mile is paved and fairly straight at a gradual incline. Then the hard packed dirt trail heads off to the left and the real fun part of the hike begins as you essentially loop around to the backside of the mountain before going straight at the summit from there. Elevation-wise it's only slight more gain than Coney, but with an extra half-mile or more one-way, it feels even easier. We made the summit in great time, passing several people that we had also seen on the previous peak and wondering if we would see them one more time on the next. The view from the summit is nice, though limited to about 180 degrees. Still, for a small energy and time investment, it was more than worth it.
