Ascent Trip Report

Viewed the total eclipse from the summit. Apparently I narrowly missed crossing paths with several other peakbaggers who climbed this the previous day! Left from the unlocked gate the previous evening at 7pm, hiking in a couple of miles to camp near Point 9212. Reached the summit at 10:30am, totality came at 11:30. Poor air quality allowed only 20 miles or so of visibility (couldn't see Borah), but skies above were clear, and the eclipse was spectacular-- 360 degrees of sunset-like colors on the horizons around me.
