Ascent Trip Report

We had info about the climb itself but didn't know the exact route from the parking lot to the base of the climb. That was part of the fun I suppose. We started up a dry creekbed for awhile and found we came at it too far from the south and had some offtrail traversing through all kinds of thick trees and bushes to regain the trail. Lost a couple hours but it was pretty fun cross country travel.

We scrambled unroped the 1st and 2nd pitches, which we found to be the hardest part actually. We decided to rope up for the 3rd pitch. Placed 1 cam and 1 nut on the way to the top of the pitch, skipping past a few belay stations. It looked like pretty easy going from there so we stowed the rope and scrambled from there to the summit. It was super hazy from the BC wildfires and from the lack of rain for so long and I've never seen it look like that before in these parts.

We scrambled back down a bit, then made 2 rappels from existing anchors, and then downclimbed to the bottom from there. It got pretty dark on the hike out and after leaving the ridge it took awhile for us to find the main trail back down. No one at the TH when we got back.

Drank almost 4 liters, it was in the upper 80s.
Did the whole trip in my approach shoes. I felt fine climbing in them but that was too far and rough to hike in approach shoes.
