Ascent Trip Report***Sierra Club Outing***
led by Mat Kelliher, Pat Vaughn
Started from Islip Saddle and headed to Copter Ridge with stops along the way at BM 7588 and Mount Hawkins. The Angeles Crest 100 started from Wrightwood this day; Islip Saddle is about the 25 mile point, and we saw a whole bunch of them, including the guy out front and later the first place woman as we headed east and south up the PCT and they came running west and north down it. It was tough coming back up from Copter Ridge, but the temps stayed nice and cool so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Tanya picked up Pk 8426 on our way back out.
Mileage and gain for entire trip: 12.7 miles, 4,000' gain. About 9 hours.
