Ascent Trip ReportLow clouds but beautiful views into the valley on the way up Hamlin Ridge tr (beautiful though difficult); ran into MadRiver who was heading down. started to rain at the summit; by the time we got over to the Saddle tr and went down to Chimney Pond we were soaked. temp at ranger cabin was 42 degrees. got back to car at dark, dropped off MtnPa at Bear Brook site, and left the park for McDonalds, chinese take out, a phone conversation w Kyle and a brief re-immersion into the world of electric lighting and warmth. |
