Ascent Trip ReportTraining hike for Whitney with Paul and Antonio. We all followed plan “A”, hiking 14.5 miles up Vernal, Nevada and Illouette falls, up to Glacier Point and down the 4 mile trial. I was surprised to see a fair amount of water coming down Illouette falls, as there was none on Yosemite “Walls”. It was another beautiful day for hiking, finished off with a burger and a beer at the cafeteria. We did the driving and hiking all in one day, so it was a real long one. Yosemite was not all that crowded for Labor day with the threat of the Hantivirus looming. |
