Ascent Trip Report

After hitting Buckman Mountain, the descent made my next (and last) target for today quite clear, because Bull Mountain was staring me in the face. And like every other summit today, this was a drive-up.

From Toro Canyon Road, take the inaccurately named Toro Ring Street (not a ring, just a short spur north!), and then jog right onto Bull Mountain Cove. Again, hooray for streets telling you where you're going. High point is on the "cove" before the cul-de-sac, which is good because the cul-de-sac itself was crammed with all manner of pickup trucks (construction? landscaping? both?). Trees and houses mean no view here unless you actually own one of these homes, and, well, if I could afford to live in West Lake Hills, I'd be bagging significantly higher hills. K-turned my way out of there, and that was that for the day.

Sure, car-bagging isn't even 1% as exciting as a scramble, but it still beats an hour in a cubicle, hands down, and also beats dying of dehydration in 100+ degree weather!

Onward and upward!
