| Elevation:||1688 ft / 514 m|
Ascent Trip ReportStarted this hike from the Sunol Visitor Center and up the HayField road, then follow the signs for Maquire Peaks loop. There is parking on Welsh creek road, but I wanted to do more that the 6 miles from there. By starting at the Sunol visitor centers and adding a bit more by returning via Indian Joe trail, the total hike was 12 miles.
I saw Quail along with baby chicks, Turkeys and their baby gooblers, turkey vultures, hawks, woodpeckers.
The last bit up to the top was a bit steep for my sore ankles, but what the heck. I summited and walk around and probably got the East Summit as well, but not sure so not counting it.
I ended the hike at 2pm and at 100~f.
