Ascent Trip Report

The road behind the Old Royal High School that leads to the park at Regent Walk, is closed for repairs, and fenced off from pedestrian traffic.

Apparently the park authority believes any hill's highpoint must be at the benchmark. Even the park signs label it so. You don't need a level to see that the National Monument is higher, and the Nelson Monument higher still. The highpoint appears to be about 60ft southeast of the Nelson Monument. I was too busy being a tourist to notice until I got up to the Nelson Monument and turned around. The Ordinance Survey lists this point's elevation as 108.442m (356ft), versus 100.423m (330ft) for BM S3006.
