Ascent of Bare Mountain on 2017-06-11
|Date:||Sunday, June 11, 2017|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||5353 ft / 1631 m|
Ascent Trip ReportTrail is snow free until about 4800' and patchy afterward. Recommend poles or spikes for the next few weeks, and an ice axe would be helpful for crossing two steep snow slopes. The slopes can be avoided by scrambling up and over the rocks and heather on the ridge. The crux is a four foot wall of snow about 30 feet below the summit that must be climbed to regain the trail.
