Ascent Trip ReportThought I would pick this peak up on the way to the Lost River Range and didnt really research anything on how to get there. Ended up going from the Scout MTn Campground and the East Fork Mink Creek. Dont believe google earth! There is no road or even trail from Camp Taylor! So I ended up mountainbiking a very muddy trail on this Memorial weekend and there were quite a few ATV's out that were absolutely detroying the trail and forest as they attempted to circumvent snowbanks as the trail ascended to the ridge, they didnt make it. I did however and had the summit to myself. The register goes back to '72! I love the Bannock range this time of spring, the valleys are SO green. I descended a different path, thankful for the spring on the way down as I made this peak alot harder, yet more satisfying than it needs to be. Mtn biking from the Scout mtn road and the South Fork of Mink creek would have been the wiser decision this time of year, though it was a very large snow year for this area this year and when hotter my path would probably be preferred as it has more shade. Although I came across quite a few ATVs it waas Memorial Day weekend and midweek this is probably not an issue.
