Ascent Trip ReportOn a Monday evening, I followed Trapper Robbin's directions to the parking area from Ephrata (Sagebrush Flat Road to J NW to 20 NW). I also plugged the HP coordinates into Google maps and received the same directions. I parked near the power lines inside the 2740 contour. I hiked in and met up with the rough "road", trying not to trample wildflowers. I followed the ridge from the Devil 2885 point to the HP and gridded the area around the HP. The sunset over the cascades was spectacular--next time, I'm bringing a picnic. I descended a more direct path to the road since it was getting dark and hiked back up to my vehicle. I drove out towards Quincy on Overen Road and nearly hit a cow on the way out. Watch out for snakes, delicate wildflowers, barbed wire, and cows on the road. This was my 13th WA Co HP!
