Ascent Trip ReportSpring ski tour. Skinned from Virginia Lakes up to the east bowl of Black Mountain. Half-way up the bowl, switched to crampons, as the skins were getting a bit slippery. Made it up to summit, enjoyed the view. Took about 3 hours. Skied the North Couloir down the peak. Pretty good spring corn conditions. Wrapped around back to the lower part of the east face to finish the run. There were a lot of backcountry skiers and boarders doing a variety of routes in the basin that day. |
