Ascent Trip ReportRode TeleferiQo at 2950 to top (Cruz Loma) with Shauna and Kelly, climbed trail to sign saying limits of visitor safety then left Shauna to duck the fence and start up. Amazing views all around and especially down nearly 1000m into Quito. Altitude not much of a problem taking it very slow. Blowing fog hiding rock spires but lifted to reveal an awesome scene. Passed by 2 Italian climbers separately who didn't know each other! Got to bottom of scree slope - last pitch to summit but was getting late and weather looking stormy. Had left Shauna with her book at the TeleferiQo for 4 hrs. |
